A Columbia County man on Thursday was found guilty of video voyeurism and five counts of possession of child pornography, reported the 8th Circuit State Attorney’s Office.
Convicted was Glenn Osteen Jr., 44. A jury returned the verdict after more than two hours of deliberation in the four-day trial in Lake City, said State Attorney’s spokesman Darry Lloyd in a press release.
The case was in the 3rd Judicial Circuit but was tried by 8th Circuit Assistant State Attorney Katrina Harden because Osteen was previously represented by Jeff Siegmeister, who was elected 3rd Circuit state attorney in November, Lloyd said.
Osteen was arrested in July 2011 following an investigation by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office alleging he secretly videotaped a child under 12 and was in possession of multiple photos and videos of minors involving sexual contact.
Following his conviction Thursday, 3rd Circuit Judge Leandra Johnson sentenced Osteen to 30 years in prison.
Columbia County court records indicate Osteen has a lengthy arrest record for a variety of felonies and misdemeanors.
