Gatorsports.com counts down this season's standout players in the nation's toughest conference.
No. 7 Jake Matthews
School: Texas A&M
Weight: 305 pounds
Why he's No. 7: Matthews led an offensive line that allowed just nine sacks in 13 games in 2012. With Matthews protecting quarterback Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M set school records for total offense (490.2 yards per game), passing offense (291.1 yards per game) and points scored (39.1 points per game). A two-year starter with 20 career starts. Matthews is considered by most NFL scouts a terrific run blocker with room to grow in pass protection. He is the son of NFL Hall of Fame offensive lineman Bruce Matthews, and figures to follow in his dad's footsteps when his college career ends.
