Police: Woman arrested after argument turns violent

Police arrested a woman early Friday morning on accusations she ripped out pieces of another woman’s hair and threatened her with a knife before later spitting on and hitting a law enforcement officer.
Brittany Kristy Bryant, 24, of Gainesville, was with the victim at their shared residence when they got into an argument just after midnight that turned violent when Bryant punched the victim in the mouth and grabbed her, according to an arrest report.
Bryant ripped out chunks of the victim’s hair and knocked her to the ground during the ensuing struggle. She then got a 6-inch-long kitchen knife and stood over the victim holding the blade in an overhand striking pose, saying, “I want to kill you.”
The victim, who later refused medical treatment, called the police and Bryant fled, although police found and arrested her at 1:22 a.m., according to an arrest report.
While she was being transported, she said, “I (expletive) hate you,” and spit on a Gainesville Police Department police officer. She struck him in the back and head. police reported.
Bryant, who is listed as a student in the arrest report, has been charged with domestic aggravated assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, which are both third-degree felonies, and domestic simple battery, a first-degree misdemeanor.
