Gainesville will soon be getting a new splash of pink.

Pink Narcissus, a Lilly Pulitzer Signature Store, will be the first tenant in a new building in Butler Plaza on Archer Road.

The building, The Shoppes at Butler Plaza, is at 3730 SW Archer Road and has four suites.

Kristin Mamula, marketing associate for Butler Enterprises, said a second store in the building will be announced next week.

Andrea Piorkowski, manager of Pink Narcissus, said the store should be open in the last week of July or the first week in August.

Mamula said the opening date of the store will be posted on the Butler Plaza Facebook page as well as the store's website.

Pink Narcissus started in Tallahassee and has carried Lilly Pulitzer for 15 years. Pink Narcissus became an official Lilly Pulitzer store in May 2011.

Lilly Pulitzer is a brand for women that offers a variety of colorful women's dresses, tunics, resort wear, accessories and footwear inspired by the Palm Beach lifestyle.

Piorkowski said the store is opening in Gainesville because it is a great residential area for the fashion-conscious and because the store is partially targeting college students and Greek members.

"It's a great demographic area that is looking for fashion and looking to have places to shop," she said.

The Pink Narcissus in Gainesville will be the 75th Lilly Pulitzer Signature Store, according to a news release.
