Gatorsports.com counts down this season's standout players in the nation's toughest conference.

No. 23 Gabe Jackson

Position: Offensive line

School: Mississippi State

Height: 6-foot-3

Weight: 335 pounds

Year: Senior

Why he's No. 23: Jackson looks more like a tackle than a guard and has the athletic ability to play either position. But it is as a guard that he has become one of the best linemen in the league. Jackson redshirted in 2009 but has been All-SEC in his last two seasons, During those two seasons he had recorded 147 knockdowns. He has started all 39 games for Mississippi State at guard. Jackson considered coming out early for the NFL draft but chose to return for his senior year to try to improve on his physicality. An improved Gabe Jackson will be a big plus for Mississippi State quarterback Tyler Russell as well as the Bulldogs’ running game.
