Former Florida guard Kenny Boynton has accepted an invitation to play with the Los Angeles Lakers’ summer league team.
Boynton, UF’s second all-time leading scorer at 2,033 points, went unpicked in two rounds of Thursday night’s NBA draft. The 6-foot-2 former McDonald’s All-American was a four-year starter and part of three straight Elite Eight teams.
Boynton will report to the Lakers’ summer-league team in Las Vegas for games July 12-22. The Pompano Beach native grew up a Lakers’ fan and has posters of both Kobe Bryant and LeBron James in his room.
