The week will start out wet with high rain chances today and Tuesday. But less rain is predicted for the July 4th holiday as drier winds blow through the area.
An 80 percent chance of thunderstorms is expected today with a 60 percent chance tonight, according to the National Weather Service.
Similar patterns are predicted for Tuesday with 70 percent chance of storms in the day and a 50 percent chance at night.
Tropical wind flow from the Gulf is expected to shift mid-week to winds coming from the Atlantic, bringing drier air. Wednesday rain chances will model a more typical summer pattern with some possible storms emerging in the afternoon.
Independence Day will follow a similar pattern with a 40 percent chance of storms expected in the day and 30 percent at night.
Some showers and storms are expected Friday and through the weekend. Temperatures will remain consistent throughout the week with lows in the low 70s and highs in the upper 80s and low 90s.
