African-American Music Appreciation Month ends Friday with De Lions of Jah, the Jacksonville-based reggae band that has been dubbed “the best reggae band in Duval County.”

African-American Music Appreciation Month ends Friday with De Lions of Jah, the Jacksonville-based reggae band that has been dubbed “the best reggae band in Duval County.” The “Free Fridays” concert will take place from 8-10 p.m. at the Bo Diddley Community Plaza in downtown Gainesville. De Lions of Jah fuses traditional roots music with contemporary dance hall and dub influences. The lead vocalist is Dave “Da General” Philip, originally from Antigua in the West Indian Islands.
