A Jacksonville woman was hospitalized with serious injuries Friday morning when she lost control of her SUV on Interstate 10 in Suwannee County and overturned, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Kimberly Michele Martin, 40, was taken to UF Health Shands Hospital, FHP stated in a press release.

The accident occurred about 9:40 a.m. at mile marker 289 near Live Oak.

Martin was driving a 2000 GMC Jimmy eastbound in the inside lane. For unknown reasons she traveled onto the inside shoulder, traveled back across the lanes to the outside shoulder, overturned several times and came to rest overturned, FHP reported.

The eastbound lanes were closed for about 15 minutes so a Shands helicopter could land to take Martin to Gainesville, the release states.
