An additional charge has been filed against a man arrested in May for indecent exposure after a woman who had seen an article about the case on The Sun's website came forward and told authorities she had confronted the man at Tower and Newberry roads.

Douglas Mull, 45, of 17500 U.S. 301 in Waldo, was arrested May 29 on charges of lewd and lascivious behavior in the presence of a child and indecent exposure, Lt. Todd Kelly said at the time.

A new count of both charges was filed Wednesday, according to an Alachua County Sheriff's Office arrest report.

People reported seeing a man standing naked on Tower Road at West University Avenue at about 8 a.m. Others reported seeing him sitting on a bench covered by a towel, appearing to masturbate, Kelly said.

Deputies arrived and found Mull at the scene. Kelly said deputies found a bag with pornographic photos from a magazine, adding that Mull acknowledged they were his.

In the latest case, the woman told deputies she was stopped at the Tower/Newberry intersection and saw Mull exposing himself and masturbating. She told him she would call police, and he left.

The arrest report states the woman was discussing what she had seen with co-workers and then read an article at She recognized him by his mugshot, the report states.
