A woman who accused a 15-year-old student of touching her child was arrested on a battery charge for pushing the student several times at a Gainesville school.
Sherry Ann Abrams, 49, of 4120 NE First Terrace, was arrested following the noon incident at Westwood Middle School, Gainesville police reported.
Abrams is suspected of entering the school without permission, putting her hands on the boy’s chest and pushing him several times while stating, “Why did you touch my child?”
A school staffer intervened and escorted the student to the front office, the report states.
Abrams told police she was in her pickup truck waiting for her son and saw the student push her son. She added that she saw her son trying to get away and went up to the boy inside the school gate, the report states.
She told police she poked the boy with a finger to his chest three times.
