The northbound lanes of Interstate 75 were briefly closed at Mile Marker 387 - south of Northwest 39th Avenue - because of a traffic crash late Wednesday morning.

Shortly before 11:30 a.m., all lanes were reopened, according to the Gainesville-Alachua County Smart Traffic system.

Officials diverted traffic at Newberry Road.

Florida Highway Patrol Sgt. Tracy Pace said there were multiple vehicles involved and some injuries but no fatalities. The travel lanes were reopened before severe backups occurred, she added.

The Sun will have more details regarding the accident when FHP issues the information.
