In A.R. Gurney’s “The Perfect Party,” now onstage at the Acrosstown Repertory Theatre, a former English professor attempts to throw the perfect party and have it reviewed by a New York City newspaper, whereupon things start to go terribly wrong. The production continues through June 30.

The Hippodrome Theatre’s production of “Avenue Q,” the hit Broadway musical featuring actors and puppets in a coming-of-age tale, has been extended through July 21.

The Drifters, the vocal group known for such ’50s hits as “On Broadway,” “Up on the Roof” and “This Magic Moment,” performs a benefit concert for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Florida on Saturday at Santa Fe College’s Fine Arts Hall.
