A Gainesville woman was arrested Saturday after police say she threw a metal cooking pot at a 72-year-old man and hit him in the face.
Janice Elaine Brown, 54, was arguing with the man at around 8:35 p.m. Saturday at the Village Crossing Apartments, at 500 SE 18th St., according to a Gainesville Police report.
The man tried to get away from Brown by entering into a friend’s apartment, but Brown stood outside and threw the cooking pot at him. The pot hit the man on the nose, causing a small cut and bleeding, the report said.
Brown was arrested on a felony charge of battery on a person over 65 years of age. She was being held at the Alachua County jail Sunday night on $10,000 bond.
