A tractor-trailer overturned Saturday morning on an Interstate 75 exit ramp in Alachua, closing the ramp until the scene was cleared, reported the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred about 6:05 a.m. on the northbound exit ramp at U.S. 441. Israel Rivera-Colon, 55, of Haines City, was driving a 2007 International tractor hauling a tanker when he failed to safely negotiate the curved ramp, FHP reported in a press release.

The tanker overturned, partially blocking the ramp and forcing it to be closed.

Rivera-Colon was taken to North Florida Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. He was cited for careless driving, FHP reported.
