Incumbent Howard wins re-election in Hawthorne

Incumbent Hawthorne City Commissioner Tommy Howard won re-election Tuesday.

Howard, who first was elected in 2011, defeated former Commissioner Harry Carter 126 to 35.

Mayor Matthew Surrency and Commissioner William Carlton previously returned to office unopposed. Hawthorne commissioners serve two-year terms.
