The future looks ‘Bright’

A production of “Brighton Beach Memoirs,” Neil Simon’s semi-autobiographical comedy about growing up in 1930s Brooklyn, opens Wednesday at the University of Florida. The play, the first of a trilogy that includes “Biloxi Blues” and “Broadway Bound,” will continue through Sunday and return for a second engagement from July 9 to 14 at UF’s Constans Theatre.

Starting Friday, the High Springs Community Theater stages its first musical in many years, the off-Broadway hit “Nunsense” about a fundraiser planned by the Little Sister of Hoboken. The production will run through July 7.
