UF freshman pitcher to transfer


Freshman pitcher Tucker Simpson has decided to transfer after going 1-2 with a 4.79 earned run average this season for the Gators.

True freshman pitcher Tucker Simpson has decided to leave the University of Florida and transfer to another school, UF confirmed Monday.

The 6-foot-6, 220-pound Simpson, who is from Oxford, Ala., started eight games this past season and finished with a 1-2 record and 4.79 earned run average. In 35.2 innings, he walked 15 and struck out 29.
