Sweetwater Branch Inn celebrating new pool, cottage

Sweetwater Branch Inn, located at 625 E. University Ave., will be hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. to celebrate the grand opening of its new 30-foot, heated, in-ground pool and spa, and its brand new Nora Belle's Cottage.

The event, which is sponsored by the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce, will also celebrate the inn's 20th anniversary.

The event will be open to the public, but RSVPs are required by emailing a guest count to reserve@sweetwaterinn.com.

Larry Resczenski recently partnered with Darrin Markey, of Markey Wealth Management to provide personalized financial planning services to Gainesville-area clients.

Resczenski, who has more than 20 years of experience in the industry, moves to his new position from VALIC, where he assisted his 1,200 University of Florida clients with their Florida retirement options.

Normandeau Associates' Julia Robinson Willmott, an ornithologist and aquatic biologist, has been added to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Bioassessment Testing Registry after completing training and passing stringent in-field audits.

The majority of field scientists who are registered are government agency employees, making Willmott one of the few in the private sector

Kiddie Academy recently adopted the Let's Move! child-care initiative, a system of health and fitness that promotes healthy lifestyles for children.

More than 90 percent of Kiddie Academy locations nationwide, including Kiddie Academy of Gainesville, have received certification as participants in the initiative.

The Orthopaedic Institute is expanding its service offerings to include radiology imaging, spinal therapy and rheumatology with the addition of three new doctors: James B. Vogler III, Richard E. Kinard and Rizwan Mansoor.

Vogler, who specializes in diagnostic imaging and is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology, will practice at the institute's Gainesville location.

Kinard, who is also board-certified by the American Board of Radiology and who specializes in diagnostic and therapeutic spinal and joint injection, will practice at the institute's Ocala location.

Mansoor, who is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, will practice at the institute's Gainesville, Lake City and Ocala offices. Mansoor specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of arthritis, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia and autoimmune diseases.

The Duke Energy Foundation recently announced it will contribute $45,000 to two charitable organizations in Florida.

One of the two grants, will be going to Consortium of Florida Education Foundations based in Gainesville.

The foundation will use the $25,000 grant to host a series of “Education Works” regional forums for School Board members and business and community leaders.

It will also offer needs assessments, board workshops and organizational planning for developing local education foundations.

Do Art Studios, which closed its location on University Avenue in January, recently relocated to 4860 NW 39th Ave., Magnolia Parke.

The studio, which is owned by Jenoa Lineberger and Vanessa Canizares, offers services, facilities and equipment needed for customers to engage in artistic activities provided by the studio and will be offering both adult and children classes every month.
