A Gainesville man was arrested Friday in connection with a May 17 robbery in which a woman was held up at gunpoint, according to an arrest report.
Eric Javon Hill, 20, of 1444 SW 18th Place, was charged by Gainesville police with robbery with a firearm and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
Hill is accused of robbing a woman in the parking lot of the Royal Village apartment complex at 920 SW 6th St. The woman was next to her car when a man came up to her, pointed a black handgun at her and demanded her wallet.
Police said they developed Hill as a suspect. The woman on Thursday picked his picture out of a photo lineup as the man who robbed her, police reported.
Hill is a suspect in a similar robbery that occurred in the same vicinity a few minutes before the case for which he has been charged.
The Florida Department of Corrections website shows that Hill served time in Cross City Correctional Institution for several burglary and grand theft convictions out of Seminole and Lake counties. He was released on Feb 14.
