Stats: Had 26 kills, 19 blocks with 21 digs for the 27-6 Bobcats, who reached the state tournament for the first time since winning the Class 6A title in 2007.

Quotable: “They have a great law school. It is really top notch. I want to be a criminal defense attorney. I will miss the environment that Buchholz had and the girls on the volleyball team. I will miss high school volleyball.” — Desaray Bowman

Hunter Parrish

School: Trenton

Sport: Football

Position: Linebacker

Height: 6-foot

Weight: 175 pounds

College chosen: Maryville College (Tenn.)

Other schools considered: LaGrange College (Ga.)

Stats: First team all-area who had 107 tackles, 15 for loss, tied for area-lead with 15 sacks, 1 caused fumble and 1 recovered fumble for Tigers.

Quotable: “Maryville had a better football team than LaGrange. I also liked them because they are going to let me play outside linebacker, where I played last year. LaGrange wanted me to play inside linebacker, which I wasn't comfortable with. It has been a fun ride this year, playing in two state finals and ending my high school career with a state championship. I still can't believe high school is almost over. I wouldn't change anything about it." — Hunter Parrish

Jonathan Smith

Other schools considered: The Citadel

Stats: Second team all-area with 73 tackles, 10 for loss, 1 sack, 1 Int., 9 pass deflections, 2 caused fumbles, 3 recovered fumbles.

Quotable: “My dad went to West Point and so did his brother, and served in the Army. I've always wanted to do the same and felt it was the right thing to do. Not bad, going 40-2 (13-1 in football, 27-1 in baseball) and playing in two state championships. We have been really close all season and it is like one big family with us." — Jonathan Smith
