Renowned reggae sounds:

The Original Wailers, the reggae band featuring guitarist Al Anderson, who backed Bob Marley on such tunes as “No Woman, No Cry,” performs Wednesday at The Jam with Wester Joseph’s Stereo VuDu opening the show at 8 p.m.

The Original Wailers: 8 p.m. Wednesday, The Jam, 817 W. University Ave. Tickets: $16 advance, $20 at the door.

MUSIC:

The Gainesville Community Jazz Band will perform sounds from traditional swing and Latin to fusion and contemporary jazz in this week’s “Free Fridays” concert.

THEATER:

The comedy “Moonlight and Magnolias,” which recounts the manic week that David O. Selznick, Victor Fleming and Ben Hecht spent rewriting the screenplay to the movie “Gone With the Wind,” runs through June 2 at the Gainesville Community Playhouse.

FESTIVAL:

The Florida Folk Festival, which returns Friday through Monday for its annual celebration of Florida culture in White Springs, will feature such renowned performers as Jim Stafford on Saturday and The Bellamy Brothers on Sunday.
