A 19-year-old woman fell from a third-floor balcony at a Gainesville apartment house on Saturday night but received only minor injuries, according to a police report.
The woman, whose name was not given in the Gainesville Police Department report, was drinking margaritas at the Courtyards Apartments, 1221 SW Second Ave., when the accident occurred.
The woman was attending a party at the apartment of 23-year-old Jared A. Miller, police said. She apparently fell from the narrow balcony, which has a chest-high cement wall instead of a railing.
She was taken to Shands at the University of Florida as a precaution, according to the report.
The woman was not the only under-aged guest at the party, police said. Miller was issued a notice to appear in court for allowing minors to consume alcohol in his home.
Attempts to reach Miller were unsuccessful on Sunday evening.
