OCALA -- A 22-year-old Ocala man was arrested for multiple charges after authorities said he was racing on Interstate 75 with a stolen SUV and crashed into the side of another vehicle.
John Edwin Talmadge of 2708 NE 25th St., sideswiped a southbound Ford Taurus on Friday while reaching speeds of 110 mph on a 70 mph roadway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash disabled the Taurus, driven by a woman from Illinois. Neither the driver nor her passenger were injured.

Talmadge was arrested on charges of reckless driving, leaving the scene of a crash, racing on a highway, grand theft of a motor vehicle, unlawful speed and driving with a suspended license. He was also issued a traffic citation for careless driving.
