Take a load off "Band" fans:

A special Tribute to The Band will feature St. Petersburg’s Tommy McCoy Band and such Gainesville performers as the Mick Marino All-Stars, the Don David/Mike Boulware Band and Nook & Cranny on Friday at Bo Diddley Community Plaza.

Tribute to The Band: 8-10 p.m. Friday, Bo Diddley Community Plaza. Free.

MUSIC:

The historical-music ensemble Musica Vera Consort performs its spring concert of music from the Renaissance and other periods on Tuesday at UF’s School of Music Building.

FESTIVAL:

The annual Kanapaha Moonlight Walk will feature some 2,000 luminaries along a walkway with telescopes provided by the Alachua Astronomy Club, music by Strings for Things and food on Saturday at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens.

DANCE:

Dance Sun Country performs its sixth annual recital, “Swirls of Sweets & Twirling Treats,” on Saturday at the Phillips Center.
