Comfort Keepers of Gainesville, a local in-home care franchise, recently received the Operational Excellence and President's Club awards by CK Franchising Inc., the business' franchisor. Lynn Domenech and Jocelyn Holt, owners of Comfort Keepers of Gainesville, Ocala and The Villages, received the award for excellence in service delivery.
Cox Communications recently announced the hiring of Christy Lewis, a new media consultant for its advertising division in Central Florida. Lewis, who earned her bachelor's degree in telecommunications, advertising and public relations from Ball State University, joins Cox Media after working with Clear Channel Radio in Jacksonville as a senior marketing consultant.
Aloha Pet Sitting & Dog Walking has been selected for the 2013 Best of Gainesville Award in the Animal Services category by the Gainesville Award Program, which is an annual awards program honoring the achievements and accomplishments of local businesses throughout the Gainesville area.
Retina Specialty Institute recently hired Dr. Shalesh Kaushal as a practitioner and researcher who will be treating patients in the new office located at 6717 NW 11th Place, Suite C.
Kaushal, who previously headed the retina division at the University of Florida, is board certified in ophthalmology and is a nationally and internationally recognized researcher specializing in inherited degenerative retinal and macular diseases.
He earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and his doctorate from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The BioFlorida Board of Directors recently announced that Nancy Bryan has been named the new president and CEO of the Florida life sciences industry association.
Bryan, who has more than 25 years of global commercial experience, has held management positions in top-tier and specialty biotech and pharmaceutical companies. Bryan, who obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Economics with honors from the University of Virginia, graduated with honors from Columbia University, where she received a master's degree in marketing and business economics.
