A third man has been arrested in an armed robbery last month in Union County in which the victim told authorities a man pointed a gun at his head and pulled the trigger, only to have the weapon misfire.
Ricky Legree, 20, of Fort White, was arrested Wednesday by Columbia County Sheriff's deputies on warrants from Union County charging him with attempted murder, robbery with a firearm, battery and larceny. His bond was set at $220,000.
John Tyler O'steen, of Lake Butler, was arrested shortly after the April 25 incident on the same charges.
On April 29, Zachary Tyson Hennessy, 28, of Fort White, was arrested in Columbia County on a warrant for the same four charges, said Union County sheriff's Lt. Lyn Williams.
The 23-year-old victim told authorities that he was robbed in a park in Providence by three men. He told deputies the robbery was set up by O'steen, a friend of his who was supposed to give him a ride to Ellisville.
Two men who were waiting in the park and pulled him out of the car, beat him and took his money and cellphone, the report stated. One man stood over him and pulled the trigger of a handgun, but it did not fire. The report did not identify the would-be shooter.
The robbers fled in a gray Honda Accord. Sheriff's officials said drugs and other illegal substances were a possible motive in the crime.
