Forecast: Warmer with a chance of rain

Warmer temperatures and a chance of rain are in the forecast today, according to the National Weather Service.

The day will be mostly sunny but a 30 percent chance of rain exists. The high is set to be 78 with another cool night in store.

National Weather Service forecast for Gainesville

Today: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly between noon and 3 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 78. Light south wind becoming southwest 9 to 14 mph in the morning.

Tuesday night: A 10 percent chance of showers before 8 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 53. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light after midnight.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. Calm wind becoming west 5 to 9 mph in the morning.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 59. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light after midnight.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 85. West wind 3 to 6 mph.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 60.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 87.
