Illinois journeymen punkers Alkaline Trio bring songs from their ninth studio album, “My Shame is True,” and others from a 17-year career mixing dark anthems with eclectic acoustic numbers to a performance Thursday at the Florida Theater of Gainesville. The bands Bayside and Off With Their Heads open the show starting at 8 p.m.

At 7:30 p.m. Friday, Gainesville Orchestra conductor Evans Haile leads the orchestra’s season-finale concert, “Around the World With Disney,” featuring music and video from such Disney films as “Beauty and the Beast” and “Mary Poppins” at the Phillips Center. Before the concert, patrons can take in an illustration demonstration from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Harn Museum of Art featuring illustrations from the Sequential Artists Workshop.
