Five softball regional finals rescheduled

For five area softball teams, tonight's scheduled regional finals have been rescheduled because of rain.

Columbia, Gainesville, Suwannee, Bradford and P.K. Yonge have all canceled tonight's schedule games, with the Bell-Lafayette Class 1A, Region 2 regional final scheduled to play. Bell coach David Halter had a tarp over the infield since Wednesday..

Here are the rescheduled dates as of now for area regional finals:

Class 5A, Region 1: Suwannee (16-9), in its first regional final, is tentatively scheduled to play at Ponte Vedra (22-5) on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Class 6A, Region 1: Columbia (25-4) will host Lynn Haven Mosley (21-7) on Sunday at 5 p.m.

The following games will be played on Monday at 7 p.m.:

Class 6A, Region 2: Gainesville (19-8), in its first regional final, will host Melbourne Eau Gallie (19-10).

Class 4A, Region 2: Bradford (27-2), also in its first regional final, will play Titusville Astronaut (24-3) in Starke.

Class 3A, Region 1 P.K. Yonge (27-2) will host Jacksonville Bishop Snyder (25-4).
