“Les Miserables,” one of the most beloved stage musicals in recent years, opens the Ocala Civic Theatre’s season this fall, the theater announced Thursday in a mailing to its members.
OCT closes its 2013-2014 season with another popular musical from 50 years ago, Lerner & Loewe’s “Camelot,” a year from now.
“Les Mis” opens Sept. 5 for a six-week run through Oct. 13. Between “Les Mis” and the story of King Arthur, Guinevere and Lancelot on the theater’s Signature Series are “The 39 Steps” in November, “Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?” in February and “The Odd Couple” in March.
On its edgier Ovation Series, OCT has scheduled “Almost Maine” in October, “I Do! I Do! I Do! I Do! I Do! “I Do!” in January and “Spreading it Around” in April.
