Players sign scholarships

Three Eastside High School senior football players signed scholarships last Thursday at the school. They are, from left, Anthony Burch, Lamartinez Walker and Nick Tucker. With them is Eastside football coach Jeff Parker. Burch, 6’2” and 190 pounds, will play defensive end and outside linebacker at Ave Maria University, a Catholic school in Ave Maria, east of Naples in southwest Florida. Tucker, 6’ and 215 pounds, will compete for playing time at tight end and linebacker at Webber International University in Babson Park in Polk County. Walker, 5’6” and 170 pounds, will be going to Webber, too, and will compete for playing time at several positions, including wide receiver, running back, defensive back and a returner in the kicking game. Both of the schools compete in The Sun Conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
