Rebuilding Together North Central Florida participated last month in National Rebuilding Day. Locally, nearly 300 volunteers provided free home repairs and energy-efficient modifications to 12 homes with critical needs, including the home of Patricia Burse in Lincoln Estates. Burse had her back porch screened and the back porch roof cleaned and gutters and a wall replaced by volunteers from CH2M Hill, an engineering and construction firm in southwest Gainesville. Burse said the work was very much needed at the house her late mother worked two jobs to purchase. “This is truly a blessing,” she said.
