A Gainesville woman arrested on a traffic offense Tuesday got into more trouble at the jail when she fought with staffers and spat at a female officer after repeatedly calling her a racial slur, according to a report.

Rebecca Shaw, 21, was arrested around 2 a.m. on SW 91st Street for driving without a license, according to the Alachua County Sheriff's Office report.

At the jail, she became combative with workers. As she was being put into a restraint chair, she called an officer a racial slur and spat in her face, the report stated.

Shaw had an additional charge of battery on a law enforcement officer placed against her.
