Of the four, the one considered most likely to get drafted was linebacker Lerentee McCray, but he never got the call. Nonetheless, he signed a free-agent deal with the Denver Broncos.

The eight Gators selected in the NFL Draft over the weekend are not the only UF rookies who will have a chance to earn a roster spot this summer.

Five undrafted Florida players reached free-agent agreements with teams Saturday night: defensive tackle Earl Okine (Houston), offensive tackle Xavier Nixon (Washington), defensive tackle Omar Hunter (Pittsburgh), outside linebacker Lerentee McCray (Denver) and wide receiver Omarius Hines (Baltimore).

Of the five, the one considered most likely to get drafted was McCray, but he never got the call. Many also were projecting Nixon would get drafted in the late rounds.

“I'm going to keep doing the things I've been doing, proving people wrong and fulfilling my dream,” McCray said.
