Job seekers can meet with area employers and learn about local opportunities Saturday at the Spring Job Fair at Santa Fe College.

The event is being sponsored by a handful of organizations, including the college, FloridaWorks, the Alachua County Commission, Asterisk Communications and the Florida Employer Advisory Council. It will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the gym at the college, located at 3000 NW 83rd St., according to a news release.

Alachua County will have personnel at the fair who will talk to visitors about currently open positions and how they can apply for them, said Kim Baldry, human resources manager for the county.

Employees also will advise people on what kind of jobs they would be qualified for within the county so they know what kind of openings to look for in the future. The county employs people who do a wide range of work spread across subjects that range from engineering to budgeting and beyond.

For more information, call the county's Human Resources department at 374-5219.
