Defensive tackle

Progress report: Dominique Easley opened the spring as a starter at defensive end, but has been spending more time at tackle, where he would start if the season opened today, Muschamp said earlier this week. Damien Jacobs and Leon Orr have continued to make strides, and junior college transfer Darious Cummings has shown he's capable of giving the Gators valuable minutes in the fall. True freshman Joey Ivie also has caught the coaches' attention.

Spring surprise: Even though he still needs to work on his consistency, senior Damien Jacobs has shown considerable improvement from last season.

Spring star: Whether he's been at end or tackle, Easley has been one of UF's most dynamic defensive players.
