A closer look at what we learned about this upcoming group of Gators from spring practice. Tight end Progress report: The coaches were hoping that a consistent playmaker would emerge, but that hasn't happened. Clay Burton and Kent Taylor have made some plays in the passing game, while Tevin Westbrook and Colin Thompson have brought a blocking dimension to the position. But tight end still needs a lot of work between now and the start of next season.

Spring surprise: Thompson has shown pretty soft hands for a big, physical TE. Spring star: There really hasn't been one, although all four have done some positive things.
