Men's Day

Johnson Chapel Baptist Church will host its annual Men's Day Celebration.

It will be held at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday at the church at 1334 NE 4th Ave.

The speakers will be: 11 a.m., Minister Carlos Mandrell of Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Gainesville, and 4 p.m., Pastor Adrian Taylor of Sringhill Baptist Church in Gainesville.

Prayer week

Bethel Seventh-day Adventist Church will host its "Spring Week of Prayer."

Services will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday through April 17 and April 19-20 at the church at 740 NE 21st St. The theme is "It's JESUS."

The speaker will be Dr. Sherwin R. Callwood, who was installed as pastor of the church in December.

The topics will be: Sunday, "The Battle with Identity;" Monday, "The Battle with Conformity;" Tuesday, "You Can't Touch This;" Wednesday, "It Ain't Over Until God Says It's Over," and Friday, "Your Giant Ain't Jack."

Men's Day

Bartley Temple United Methodist Church will host its annual Men's Day Celebration.

It will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the church at 1936 NE 8th Ave. The theme will be "Christ Workmanship: Shaped to Serve (Ephesians 2:10)." A meal will be served following the service.

The guest speaker will be the Rev. Lawrence Barriner of Simpson Memorial United Methodist Church in Jacksonville.

Pastor's anniversary

Mount Hermon Baptist Church will celebrate the 6th anniversary of its pastor, Pastor Terry D. Dorsey.

Services will be held at 7 p.m. through Saturday and 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday at the church at 1510 NE 2nd St.

Harvest Fest

Showers of Blessings Harvest Center will host its Harvest Fest 2013.

It will be held from noon-3 p.m. at T.B. McPherson Recreation Center at 1717 SE 15th St.

The free event will feature the Alachua County Library District bookmobile and representatives from Florida KidCare, Head Start, the Oral Health Coalition of Alachua County and others.

There also will be a three-on-three basketball tournament and a slam dunk contest. Prizes will be awarded.

Fair and sale

New Horizon Outreach Ministries will host a yard sale and health fair.

On Saturday, the yard sale will be held from 7 a.m.-noon and the health fair will be held from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the church at 127 NE 15th St.

Miracle Word of Faith Ministries will host a special fellowship service.

It will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the church at 3809 E. University Ave. The theme is "God Can Do Anything If You Believe And Trust Him."

Leon Young & The Angelic Company of Gainesville will host its "In My Heart Anniversary Celebration."
