Florida confirmed that junior center Patric Young underwent surgery late last week to remove a bone spur in his ankle.
The 6-foot-9, 247-pound Young, who announced last week he's returning for his senior season, has been dealing with foot and ankle issues on and off since his sophomore season.
Young's recovery time is expected to take 6-8 weeks. He averaged 10.1 points and 6.3 rebounds as a junior, posting six double-doubles in 37 games.
Florida junior forward Will Yeguete also is mulling possible additional offseason surgery on his knee after having bone chips removed in February. Yeguete was forced to sit out six games in February after the knee surgery but returned for the NCAA Tournament.
