A Gainesville man was arrested Monday on allegations he drove at and struck his girlfriend with a car, according to the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office.
Anthony Allen, 46, of 4223 SW 20th Lane, was charged with one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and one count of aggravated assault without intent to kill.
The incident occurred Saturday night as Allen was driving a 2003 Honda Sedan with his girlfriend, the owner of the car, as a passenger, the arrest report states.
The two got into a dispute. Allen stopped the car at 12116 SW 24th Ave., and the woman got out and walked toward a home.
Allen drove at the woman, who tried to use a chainlink fence for protection, the report states. She was hit by the car and required hospitalization.
Allen was arrested following an ASO investigation and booked into the Alachua County jail, where he remained Tuesday in lieu of $100,000 bond.
