GPD: Robbery suspect confesses to bank holdup

A Jacksonville man suspected of the March robbery of a Gainesville bank in addition to several others is in custody in Georgia, Gainesville police reported

Donald Edward Mims, 56, was arrested in Georgia and has confessed to robbing several banks including the March 29 hold-up of the Capital City Bank at 4040 SW 16th Blvd, police reported.

He got an undisclosed amount of money and fled.
