A Gainesville man was arrested Friday on aggravated battery and other charges after he reportedly threw a cinder block and chain through the windows of a car in a dispute with his former girlfriend, according to an arrest report by the Alachua County Sheriff's Office.
Dennis C. Brigham, 24, of 2431 NW 57th Place, was charged with aggravated battery on a pregnant woman, aggravated battery using a deadly weapon, throwing an object into a vehicle and criminal mischief.
The arrest report states that Brigham's former girlfriend called authorities to report that Brigham took her cellphone and went to his mother's house in La Crosse.
The woman and two others went to La Crosse to get her phone, deputies said. The report states that Brigham threw a cinder block through the back window of a car. The block broke into pieces, causing a bleeding gash on one of the victims.
Brigham reportedly threw a heavy chain at the front passenger window, shattering it. Glass hit a pregnant woman in the car. She told deputies that Brigham knew she was pregnant.
The report states that Brigham posted a Facebook message about throwing a brick. Brigham was later arrested by the Sheriff's Office.
