Food bank in running for $45,000 from Walmart

Gainesville’s Bread of the Mighty Food Bank is in the running for a share of $3 million in grants from Walmart for child hunger relief programs.
From April 2-30, people can visit Walmart’s Fighting Hunger Together page at www.walmart.com/hunger to vote for food banks or agencies. The top 40 vote getters will receive $45,000 each, and the next 60 will receive $20,000 each.
Bread of the Mighty Food Bank supplies food to more than 130 agencies in Alachua, Dixie, Gilchrist, Lafayette and Levy counties.
