Food trucks and live music are on tap Friday night during a benefit for the Alachua County Humane Society at Green Market, 5408 NW Eighth Ave., the former Greenery Square.
Food will be available from the Grilled Cheese Wagon, Humble Pie, Go Go Stuff Yourself and Sizzle Wagon with a fifth food truck possibly in the works as of Thursday, said Brad Brooks of Cymplify Central. CYM Coffee Co. will offer beer and wine.
Donated items will be raffled to raise money for the Humane Society. Chase Doran helped organize the event in partnership with Cymplify as a class project for his sales management class at the University of Florida.
“The project was to choose a charity, and we chose the Alachua County Humane Society,” he said.
“The main overarching goal is to make Alachua County a no-kill county by 2015.”
He invited people to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the festivities. The food truck rally is also pet-friendly, “so they can bring their dog on a leash.”
Live music will be provided by StillSkin, Michael McArthur and Paul Teerlinck.
Brooks said if the food truck rally goes well, it could become a monthly event.
