The deadline is Friday for entrepreneurs of start-up companies in Alachua County who want to participate in the GAIN 2013 Fast Pitch, a competition set for Thursday, April 11.
Sponsored by the Alachua County Economic Development Office, GAIN Fast Pitch will be staged from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hampton Inn downtown.
GAIN Fast Pitch provides early-stage entrepreneurs with a competition that lets them practice their investor pitches to specially recruited investors, mentors, community leaders and service providers. The winner will receive $3,000 in legal fees and an opportunity to participate in the Florida Venture Forum Early-Stage competition on May 15.
Entrepreneurs wishing to participate in the event must apply by Friday. There is a $25 base application fee, which includes entry for one company representative. Companies must pay $10 for each additional company representative. People wishing to attend the event can purchase tickets for $15 ($10 for GAIN stakeholders).
GAIN, short for the Gainesville Area Innovation Network, is not-for-profit that works to connect and educate entrepreneurs, offering a variety of programs and events.
