A couple of Florida pitchers were honored by the SEC on Monday. Florida junior right-hander Jonathon Crawford was chosen as the SEC Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career after tossing a two-hit shutout against No. 11 Ole Miss on Saturday. Florida softball junior ace Hannah Rogers used three wins and a save in the last week of play to improve to 20-2 (1.12 ERA) for UF (35-3, 10-2 SEC), earning SEC Pitcher of the Week accolades for the second consecutive week. Crawford became the first recipient from the Gators since right-hander Hudson Randall garnered the honor on April 4, 2011. After the Rebels claimed Friday's opener, 4-3 in 11 innings, Crawford evened the series on Saturday with his best outing of the season.

The righty allowed only singles in the fourth and sixth innings, set a season high with eight strikeouts and issued a pair of walks. Ole Miss hitters went 2-for-29 (.069) against Crawford, who went the distance for his second career complete-game and second solo shutout — first since a 4-0 no-hitter against Bethune-Cookman on June 1, 2012 during the NCAA Gainesville Regional. It was the first complete game by a Florida pitcher this season, the Gators' first shutout and marked the first time the Rebels were held scoreless in 2013. Crawford (1-4, 4.46) leads UF with 34 strikeouts in 42.1 innings this year. The Gators captured the series with a 4-0 victory in Sunday's rubber game. Florida hosts UCF (18-11) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at McKethan Stadium. The game will be carried live on FOX Sports Florida. Rogers tossed UF's epic mid-week clash against FSU March 17, a walk-off thriller in extras, before leading the Gators to their second SEC series sweep over Ole Miss March 29-31 in Oxford, Miss. Rogers' SEC weekly award marks UF's fifth of the season and the Gators' fourth straight. Rogers and Florida will start a five-game home stand Wednesday with UCF before playing host to Mississippi State in a three-game SEC series April 5-7, followed by hosting in-state opponent USF April 10 for the second mid-week contest between the two squads this season. First pitch between the Gators and Knights is slated for 6 p.m. from UF's Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium on Wednesday.
