DALLAS, Texas -- When you start a journey like this you have no idea how long it’s going to last. You could be one-and-done or on the road for two weeks. So it’s easy to run out of clothes.
I’ve done a wash but the real issue here is T-shirts. I didn’t pack enough. Not even close. So the other day I went to downtown Dallas to look for one.
Dallas is weird. There is almost no shopping downtown. It’s all office buildings. But I found one place. It had a bunch of silly Texas T-shirts. I passed.
I found the area where the sports T-shirts were. Almost all of them were Cowboys T-shirts. Now, I don’t like the Cowboys. Always rooted against them. But I grabbed one anyway. What choice did I have?
As I was walking out, I found a Texas Rangers T-shirt. OK, I don’t have any feelings either way about the Rangers. So I was saved from buying a Cowboys T-shirt. But just before I checked out, I saw a hideous Baylor T-shirt. Hey, I’m a college guy and I have no problems with Baylor. So that is the T-shirt I’ll be wearing home Monday.
