A Gainesville man kicked in a door Saturday night and attacked two women, one of whom was more than 65 years old, before one of the victims pushed him out, police said.
Raymond H. Douglas, 26, went to the home around 10 p.m. and tried to sell the women a pair of hair clippers, according to the Gainesville Police Department.
The women closed and locked the front door, but Douglas kicked it in, breaking the doorframe. Douglas pushed one of the women to the floor, then pushed the other women who tried to help her, the report stated.
The second woman pushed Douglas until he left the home. Police arrested him a short time later on charges of battery on a person 65 years old or older, assault during a burglary and violation of probation.
Police said Douglas is on probation for battery during a burglary in 2009. He violated his probation twice but was allowed to remain under supervision at the recommendation of his probation officer.
He was being held at the Alachua County jail on Sunday on a $650,000 bond.
