ARLINGTON, Texas -- I think I would look good in a cowboy hat.

Seriously, when you are in a state like this for as long as we have been you start to talk with a drawl and wonder if a string tie is a good way to go.

It’s almost over and we have the Gator boys to thank for another deep run in the tournament. It was great seeing so many people Friday night -- Mike Weinar, the former UF manager who is now special assistant to Rick Carlisle with the Mavericks; former UF golfer Pat Bates, now teaching in Oklahoma City and Joakim Noah, who I talked to in the Gator locker room.

I also found a great lunch place called the West End Pub where the tomato basil soup was excellent.

This is Day 11 in the great state of Texas. At least we know now when we’ll be coming home to Gainesville.
